The Phone and Teaching

People love talking the phone. We all want to be connected to our friends and families during the day, but you should never use the phone or cell phone at school during school hours.

Many schools have their own policies about phones. Find out what they are and abide by them.

I have seen several teachers get in trouble for talking on the phone at work, and it is unnecessary.

If you have a true emergency, ask a co-worker or office staff to watch your room to receive a call.

Do not discuss your personal matters on the phone with parents or students around. You’ll be amazed how fast gossip can spread in a school, especially if it is juicy! Oh la la!
