The Teacher's Lounge

I try to avoid the teacher's lounge at all costs. I always have, I always will. Most of what happens in the lounge is gossip, negative talk and generally unprofessional behavior.

Every school I’ve worked at is just about the same. Typically, if there are teachers in the lounge and it isn’t lunch, you can bet that you don’t want to be part of it.

The motivated teachers don’t have time to just sit around the lounge during their planning time, so if you want to find them, walk to their classroom.

Administration knows who is a "lounge lizard" and who isn't. You don't want to be on that list. Instead of hanging out, take a walk, visit the school library, go with your children to a special... do something "good"!
