We have staggered start, we've done it this way for the past 2 years. It is awesome. Only 5 students come each day. I am able to do some assessing as to what letters/sounds, shapes #'s . colors, counting skills, etc they know. We play some name games, sing songs, take a tour - you can do "the Gingerbread Man" format for a tour. Look at the websites on this chatroom. We explore some centers, go over playground rules and THE GOLDEN rule. Talk about bathroom, dismissal and lunch routines, BE SURE YOU KNOW how they are going home. Bus tags help! You'll be worn out and so will they! Have a great year!
