I have my class organized into centers. I have center time three times a week so I am able to meet with all of my groups 3 times a week. (We have early out day on Monday and free choice centers on Friday so I don't do guided reading on these days) Center time is 40 minutes. I have four groups so I meet with each for 10 minutes. I have 24 students so there are 6 students in each group. I have parent volunteers help with other centers while I do guided reading. In a half day kindergarten program this is as much as I have been able to have time to guided reading.

This is the first year that I am actually finding time to meet with my groups weekly. The other students do centers at this time. They do their best to turn their voices to a whisper.
I am wondering what kind of activities do you do at your reading groups. How do you know what level they are? Do you do a DRA? If so how often?
I need a way to track my reading group progress and a nice format to write my lessons if anyone can share it would be appreciated.
