December Curriculum
For Kindergarten

In the December curriculum for Kindergarten, we are learning about Jan Brett and the winter season.

December Curriculum:

  1. Language Arts: Let’s Count!

  2. - Blending sounds and rime
    - Letters: P, G, F
    - Words: and, go
    - -at and -an word families
    - Beginning, middle, end
    - Distinguish letter / word / sentence
    - Describe by number and color

  3. Writing:

    - Match spoken words to print
    - Writing sentences

    - "Friendly" letters
    - Writing sentences

  5. Science / Social Studies:

    - Graph a Day - Yes/No

December homework:

  1. Write and draw 4 things that start with the letter "P".
  2. Write and draw 4 things that start with the letter "G".
  3. Write and draw 4 things that start with the letter "F".
  4. Write a sentence with the word "and".
  5. Write a sentence with the word "go".
  6. Write and draw 4 words from the -at family. (Example: cat, fat)
  7. Write and draw 4 words from the -an family. (Example: man, can)
  8. Draw 4 red apples, 5 blue flowers and 3 green trees.
  9. Draw a picture of a snowman and label the parts. (Example: head, arm)
  10. Write a short poem about your favorite holiday.
  11. Write a letter to Santa!
  12. Draw a picture that shows "20".
  13. Write a sentence that ends with an exclamation point (!).
  14. Write words that rhyme with "can".
  15. Write words that rhyme with "mat".
