Centers or Whole Group Instruction?

I am looking for suggestions on how to best use my 40 min. math block.


I have a special education teacher during this time, so I would like to do centers, but I also know that sometimes at this level, direct whole group instruction is most efficient...I think.


Can you tell this is my first year teaching this grade?


My question to all of you is how do you organize your math time for a week?
