Whew! We made it through the first day of school.

The kids and I got to know each other a little bit, we practiced procedures and routines, read a few books and even had time to introduce four of our learning centers.

By the middle of the afternoon I think we were all getting a little tired. Some students even asked to take a nap, and were a little surprised that we don't do that in First Grade. All in all, we had a great day!

As for day two... it was cancelled due to Tropical Storm Fay. What a way to begin a school year. Thankfully, the storm isn't too strong and we should all be back to school tomorrow.
