March Kindergarten Curriculum

In the March Kindergarten Curriculum, we are talking farms. It is an exciting unit because it ties in many parts of the curriculum! We also celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday this month!

March Kindergarten Curriculum:

  1. Language Arts: Down in the Farm

  2. - Blending phonemes
    - Letters: T, K, N, F, H, S
    - Words: said, the
    - -ot, -ox, -ig, -at, -an, -it word families
    - Fantasy / real
    - Singular / Plural

  3. Writing:

  4. - Capital at beginning of sentence
    - End punctuation
    - Journals
    - Word spacing
    - Match spoken words to print
    - Writing sentences
    - Quotation marks
    - Class letters

  5. Science / Social Studies:

  6. - Farms

  7. Math:

  8. - Calendar Math
    - Graph a Day - Yes/No
    - Numbers 1 - 100
    - Equal, more than, less than
    - Addition and subtraction with number lines
    - Measurement
    - Penny, nickel, dime

March homework:

  1. Write and draw 4 things that start with the letter "T".
  2. Write and draw 4 things that start with the letter "K".
  3. Write and draw 4 things that start with the letter "N".
  4. Write and draw 4 things that start with the letter "F".
  5. Write and draw 4 things that start with the letter "H".
  6. Write and draw 4 things that start with the letter "S".
  7. Write and draw 4 words from the "-ot" family.
  8. Write and draw 4 words from the "-ox" family.
  9. Draw a picture of something real and something fantasy.
  10. Draw a picture of "one" and "more than one".
  11. Write and draw about the farm.
  12. Draw a penny, nickle, dime and quarter.
  13. Write a sentence with the word "said".
  14. Write a sentence with the word "the".
  15. Draw a picture of "more than 19".
