February Kindergarten Curriculum

In the February Kindergarten Curriculum, we are talking about hearts. We are also discussing transportation.

February Kindergarten Curriculum:

  1. Language Arts: Wheels Go Around

  2. - Blending phonemes
    - Letters: D, Z
    - Words: for, have
    - -ig, -at, -an, -it word families
    - Opposites
    - Words for travel

  3. Writing:

  4. - Capital at beginning of sentence
    - End punctuation
    - Journals
    - Word spacing
    - Match spoken words to print
    - Writing sentences
    - Quotation marks
    - Writing Signs

  5. Science / Social Studies:

  6. - Weather and Seasons and Investigating water

  7. Math:

  8. - Calendar Math
    - Graph a Day - Yes/No
    - ABAB and ABCABC patterns
    - Extending patterns
    - Counting with manipulatives
    - Analyzing graphs
    - 1-to-1 correspondence
    - Addition with manipulatives
    - Slides and turns

February homework:

  1. Write and draw 4 things that start with the letter "D".
  2. Write and draw 4 things that start with the letter "Z".
  3. Write a sentence using the word "for".
  4. Write a sentence using the word "have".
  5. Write and draw 4 words from the "-it" family.
  6. Write and draw 4 words from the "-ig" family.
  7. Draw a picture of opposites. (Example: tall, short)
  8. Draw a picture of something "on".
  9. Draw a picture of something "in".
  10. Draw a car and label the parts. (Example: wheel, door)
  11. Draw a picture of 3 + 5.
  12. Draw a picture of 6 - 2.
  13. Write and draw about water.
  14. Draw a picture that shows "more than 15".
  15. Draw a picture that shows "less than 20".
