It seems like just the other day I wrote my first newsletter for this group.
But it wasn’t... it was May of 2007.
In that time I feel like I’ve developed amazing, fun, and kind relationships with you all and it’s wonderful.
I have learned so much about the craft of teaching from you and it makes us all better teachers.
So, thank YOU for being here for me. I couldn’t keep this up without you!
The chatboards are up and running… and seem to be helping people find the answers they need!
I thought that I’d preview a few of the “hot topics” for you.
The Kindergarten board is discussing Writer’s Workshop, community building, and daily schedules.
Reading teachers in Kindergarten are sharing ideas about Running Records, Guided Reading for pre-readers, and keeping a fun and engaging reading center.
First Grade is chatting it up about behavior programs, morning work, and trying to have kids stay in their seats.
The Reading teachers in First Grade are also talking about Centers, guided reading, and organization of materials.
The Second Grade teachers are talking about how much homework to give, and teaching narrative writing.
The Daily 5 group is quite busy talking about things like Book Bin, scheduling, and how to integrate all of the stations.
For a list of all of the chatboards, visit here.
And like always – if there’s something that you think should be added to this list, a topic that is missing, let me know.
Have a great summer!
Check out my podcasts on my podcast blog. They are fun and helpful!
I hope that you have enjoyed this newsletter. Please feel free to email it to friends and family who are teachers or homeschool moms!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
See you next month!
